Here is a look at the March 8th solar storm

Anything in the red is good for sky watchers looking for auroras. Hopefully this storm can produce some good stuff!

Northern Lights Forecast, First Post

A few months ago I was searching the internet for a website that "forecasted" the northern lights. I am a photographer and videographer and getting out to see the aurora is something that has always driven me. After searching and searching I didn't really find what I was looking for. So I am going to forecast the auroras to the best of my knowledge, since no one else is doing it.

This is a great week to start the blog as we are having a huge solar storm as we speak.
The storm hit the Earth at about 5am central time on Thursday, March 8th.
This storm so far hasn't produced much in the way of northern lights, however tonight looks to be promising.

If the clouds are gone tonight take a look to the north! The full moon will make it harder to see them, but if the storm starts coming around we could get a great show!
